Where is college football realignment headed?
College football is shifting hard and fast with the dissolution of the Pac-12. Where is this headed down the line?
The realignment chairs are spinning again and the short-term results are kinda easy to forecast.
As we covered last Wednesday, the Pac-10 is dead. I think it’s possible that some surviving remnants hold together, add enough teams to hold quorum, and then get some version of that dinky Apple TV deal no one wants to share the exact details on. Fox Sports is going to pull out the top Left Coast schools and absorb them into the Big 10 and the corner states will either head to the Big 12 or be a part of the Apple league.
I’ll explain further in a moment, but I’d also like to discuss some of the factors guiding all of this and where it’s all going to end up down the line.
