The Fighting Swifties are going to the Super Bowl
Breaking down the action from the conference championships.
You’ll never believe this but Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Andy Reid, and of course Taylor Swift are headed to the Super Bowl.
As I expected, there are some which are claiming this is some sort of conspiracy by the NFL to generate extra excitement for that lowly, unremarked upon event which concludes the season. As I noted beforehand, they didn’t need a conspiracy to push the Chiefs through, they’re built for this.
The Baltimore Ravens were favorites, playing at home, and celebrating multiple legends from previous teams, but they had Lamar Jackson on their team instead of Patrick Mahomes and that proved insurmountable. Ravens fans must be in shambles, that dude just started a five-year, $260 milly contract.
I’m curious to take stock of how the Lions fans in my life feel after the NFC Conference Championship Game. Heading into the contest they were playing with emotional house money. As one friend put it, “unless it’s close in the fourth quarter, I’m happy with how things went this season whether we win or lose.” Another remarked, “I mean, if we lose to the best team in the conference after making it to the championship game, I’m okay with that.”
Lions fans, in general, are typically waiting for the other shoe to drop pretty early. I’m just about 38 years old, most of the Lions fans I know are of similar age or younger, and none of us have memories of seeing the Lions do anything meaningful in the playoffs before this season.
But that was a tough loss.
Let’s break it all down and dive into the hilarious “Brock Purdy????” discourse.
