A question on Space Force - do you define it as the position they play or the impact they have? In terms of pure positions, UGA lost it’s only NFL caliber Edge (Nolan Smith) for the season, and doesn’t have the WRs at the level you routinely mention (Jameson Williams, Marvin Harrison Jr.). Instead UGA’s two best players are a DT (Jalen Carter) and a TE (Brock Bowers), but they essentially have the same effect of pressuring the QB and creating headaches for DCs, respectively. Are these Space Force or tenches guys, or does their hybrid status make them even more impactful?
Space force guardians are: Left tackle (or right if that's where you defer stress in protection), deep threat receiver, island cornerback, and Edge.
So Georgia is like, 2 for 4, arguably. It's a confounding factor for them and why I'm hesitant to be as bullish on their chances as everyone else is. Obviously yes, they have these other interior core players who are well above average that impact games. Do they have enough of them? We'll see.
Interesting, so you strictly define it by position? In that case I’d say UGA is 1/4. Kamari is a better corner than Ringo, and I’m not ready to call him an island corner. No NFL Edge. No game breaking WR. Stud LT.
FWIW I think Carter and Bowers are such freaks that they have Space Force effects from non traditional positions. Looking forward to your articles on all four teams!
Watch the tape of every game since Kentucky. Opposing OC have gone after Ringo and left Kamari alone. Ringo has all the physical traits you could want, but seems to be lacking a little confidence and ability to get his head around in time. He’s not a space force corner right now.
IAN….great stuff, brutha!

I would counter they are both really good, uniquely high impact players but not space force guys.
Ringo is pretty good I think.
