Who won Week 11 in College Football?
TCU has proven me wrong and the SEC is filled with interesting spread players and tactics I've seen before in the Big 12.
Week 11 is the week where I had to give up on the stubborn notion in my own mind that TCU had too many flaws to hang on this season and win the Big 12 Championship. They still may not pull that off and I don’t expect to see them in the playoffs, but they had Texas’ offense totally figured out in Austin on Saturday night and shut them down to lock in a place in the league title game.
It’s hard to find good substitutes for experience at quarterback, offensive line, and linebacker when it comes to winning football games.
Alabama pulled out a win on the road against Ole Miss to keep their hopes alive for the SEC Championship, although they’re going to need some major help against LSU which seems unlikely to come. It looks like the Tide will finish the Bryce Young era without a National Championship and we’ll see some interesting transitions in Tuscaloosa at the coordinator level and at quarterback. Is Jalen Milroe next in line? Is there another young Alabama quarterback ready to make a leap or will they go get a transfer? What happens to their defense after all these safeties and Edges leave?
The era of perpetual Clemson and Alabama playoff participation everyone assumed was eternal may not last too much longer. Yet, Nick Saban did overcome Lane Kiffin on the road Saturday night.
Meanwhile the Brian Kelly LSU era continues to be very interesting…
