Who won Week 10 in college football?
November ball is here and only teams with disciplined run defense ascend.
Boy do we have a lot to talk about from this past weekend.
The SEC had two monumental matchups in Tennessee at Georgia and Alabama at LSU. If you read this blog regularly you know I was not surprised by anything that happened in Tennessee at Georgia.
I thought the LSU vs Alabama game would come down to whether or not the Tiger offense could hold onto the ball and give the Tide issues by running downhill at them. Instead it played out a little differently, although I did note they were able to get some movement. Brian Kelly is a great coach, his prickly attitude has lead many to wish him to do poorly at LSU but there are few better coaches in this game.
Alabama’s season is in absolute tatters. Two losses in SEC play before the Iron Bowl, a great chance of missing the SEC Championship game, and little chance of a playoff bid. Who’s going to be the fall guy?
We also saw Clemson get squashed on the road in South Bend, likely ending their playoff bid. They could win out and still slip in but their resume is going to be pretty weak relative to other 1-loss teams.
The playoff race in general is getting kind of murky. The Big 10 Champion (Michigan or Ohio State, I’m guessing the Wolverines) will be one. Georgia will be another. Then we’ll have two other slots…
