Talking "the game" and rivalry results
Michigan bested Ohio State once more and the regular season resolved along with a number of storylines around college football.
My final note on “the game” last Friday?
Going into this game Ryan Day was talking up his team as a “defense and run game” physical squad who’d finally get one over on the Wolverines by getting back to Big 10 ball and taking it to them in the trenches.
That went about like you’d think. Michigan out-rushed Ohio State 156-107 and iced the game with a 13-play, 56-yard field goal drive in the 4th quarter that ate 7:00 of clock and gave the Buckeyes the ball back under “score a touchdown in 1:00 or lose again” circumstances.
I think at this point Day is either having a full blown identity crisis, or he knew his quarterback wasn’t up for it.
Elsewhere in college football, Auburn gave the Alabama all they wanted (as I anticipated) but Jalen Milroe pulled a rabbit from his hat and took down the W, Washington barely edged out Washington State, Florida State survived without Jordan Travis against Florida, and the playoff picture is starting to clear up.
