Playoff team profiles: The Ohio State Buckeyes
Scouting the losers of "the game." Can they rebound when it matters?
In my long preamble the other day, I listed the two main paths to winning a National Championship in the playoff era.
You can win with “the trump card,” a pro-style spread passing game which can dice up even the best college defenses and allow you to simply outscore everyone at any level. Or, you win by assembling the strongest “traditional triumvirate” of defense, power run game, and deep threat passing.
Now it’s time to profile the four teams participating in the playoffs and gauge whether they figure to be strong enough in either realm to emerge as the National Champions.
