Very eventful week 8 in college football.
Texas won what may prove to be a pyrrhic victory against the Houston Cougars, edging them out despite a furious charge by the Cougars 31-24 but losing Quinn Ewers to a separated shoulder during the game. Sounds like he’ll be out for quite a while (if he even comes back this season) and Texas will get to undergo another quarterback controversy between back-up Maalik Murphy or Arch Manning, the son of football royalty. So that’ll be something.
Their rivals in Norman are starting to look like this season’s TCU, the Sooners remain undefeated after eking out a win over a game UCF Knights team. The Big 12 is likely to have a wild November.
Elsewhere Utah took down USC yet again, leading to all kinds of wild rumors and speculation about Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams, Michigan buried a totally over it Michigan State in East Lansing, and Penn State put together a dismal offensive showing in Columbus…
