An early look at the favorites for 2024
Several teams are pushing their chips all in amidst the considerable turnover across the college football landscape.
There’s been a regularly remarked upon quirk to the young college football offseason and upcoming 2024 season regarding the Ole Miss Rebels.
Lane Kiffin’s program got their 2024 schedule and it very notably did not include Nick Saban’s Alabama for the first time in a long time. They’re also dodging incoming Texas and drawing Georgia at home rather than in Athens. Ole Miss appeared to seize on the opportunity to have an easier time of things than they did in the ol SEC West format and found the funds to put together a massive transfer portal class for the 2024 season.
Of course Nick Saban retired and gutted Alabama football anyways (probably), which only opened the door wider for other programs to make a run. There are particular programs which are obviously pushing for a big season in the new college football which no longer includes a Saban-Alabama. It’s not exactly Groundhog Day in college football.
Then there are some other programs which are strong enough to make a run regardless, like Kirby Smart’s Georgia. Here are some of the programs standing out early.
